Greeting Cards for Ramadan

Last weekend the blessed month of Ramadan began.

And when that month comes to an end, Muslims worldwide will celebrate Eid.

Most of us know that Ramadan is the month when Muslims fast during daylight hours and that, at the end of the month, they celebrate the festival, Eid-al Fitr. 

But did you know that fasting is only one aspect of Ramadan? During this special month, Muslims are also called to extra prayers, to study and reflect on the Qur'an, to repent, to show kindness and to make generous donations to charities?

So it may not always seem quite appropriate for a Ramadan Greeting Card to bear the words, 'Happy Ramadan!' It seems somehow to trivialise this important part of the Muslim calendar. But 'Ramadan Mubarak' can be translated as, 'Ramadan Greetings' and 'Ramadan Kareem' literally means, 'Generous Ramadan'
